I have just PM's him, thanks for all the advice so far. Do not want to mess the new stuff up once it arrives........

I'm going to redo a couple of the pillars on mine as I'm not happy with the finish. I''ll post some pics on how you can do the curves.

Hi got your PM... if I can remember, it goes something like this, the glue must me tacky (its contact glue) so if you do it while its wet, it will slip back after you have put it on, too dry and it wont stick, and you need pressure while you applying the material, use a spoon or something like that to (something with shapes on it) so you can push the material hard in to the curves/nooks/cranny's also its important you use a glue that will cope with the heat inside your car, in the summer it will get hot and the glue might dry out and crack and all your hard work will be wasted

I just had another look at the how to, I used leather on the pillars, not material, so mine would have been thicker, dont knock yourself out getting the edges perfect, they will be hidden by the strip when you put them back in anyway, make sure you have cleaned the pillars and even given them a sanding, this will make the plastic more abrasive and give it a key for the glue to bond better?? thats all I can think of right now

An important note.... cut with small nicks all around the edges, this will stop a lot of the creases you are getting, have another look at the pics, you will see after I have glues them I have nicked the leather all around, so when you fold it over again, there's no pressure on the leather, thats important

That will be cool, but as Dopey says it is difficult taking the pics while you are dealing with the adhesive etc......

Would be great to see though.

This is all great extra info thanks for that.
I guess the leather is totally different to deal with compared to the faux suede stuff........ I did manage to get one of the middle pillars done, so just need to replicate that. Also I think I used a good size material with sufficient overhang. Front pillars were a breeze.

The adhesive I have used has handled 5-10 days of intense heat now since doing the sunroof then headlining a little later. The car registered 35 in there yesterday lunchtime and fingers crossed it is still ok.

Thanks for the advice, just need to keep plugging at it.
Cheers
