sunroof leaks

how can you silicon frame to glass and frame to roof and still get leaks

Poss a broken drain or you haven't sealed it fully it's normally roof to frame that leaks or it could be windscreen or roof bars

I should have bought a boat,would have been more water tight lol,same on my previous disco

Don't use the correct sealer and or don't do the job properly.

you could take the sunroofs out,weld the holes up and they would still flippin leak.:hysterically_laughi

Could be roof rails thats leaking.

Reading this with interest as I am getting water in the cabin.

Only seems to leak when it has been rained on from being dry, so after a lot of rain it appears to stop leaking.

Will be getting the Sikaflex and doing it in the summer.

That's funny cuz it's so true . think if mine ever start leaking again i will just get the dam thing body wrapped and tell them not to cut the sunroofs out

probably leak from somewhere else then,bloody things.lol

I had 300 tdi without sunroofs a with aircon and was quite happy I got td5 and sunroofs a total pain in the ass I don't know why land rover just don't give a/c as standard and forget the sunroofs as they can't design them properly its the only make I have had with leaking sunroofs, but I still love the discovery though

I did not them but had to, it's the specification of the vehicle Sir

I take it you've not had a Renault Clio then....!

All my Honda company car (my sixth one since I got my disco) have a sunroof which never leaks, but then like the discos I never use them.
My brothers XF sunroof never leaks, they are the sunroof which slides back within the roof space, which LR and other manufactures now fit, unlike over the top stuff the D1 & 2s have.

It's a land rover discovery.....it's supposed to leak....😆

I just tell people it's got a built in shower,

sounds more impressive than a leaky sun roof.

i had renault 11 i didn't have probs with that and i had pug 406 and a pug 306. disco is the only one i have had with sunroof problems i just fitted new weather seal to front sunroof so i will find out if i have a dry car in morning. i will get rear seal next, it was a bit of pig to fit as i had to stretch it a little bit so it would sit in the groove but it seems to sit up against the glass alot better now

I was amazed to see the official workshop manual had full schismatic on how to fix leaks on Discovery's. WTF why Didn't they just not put em in? Fortunately for me I managed to stop my leaks with the old silicone monster! Good luck with it! Ill end up doing them again tho with the right stuff as just used bathroom stuff which I had as I was so sick of getting ****ed on every time I turned the steering wheel!

i still got a leak above the sunroof motor so might go mad with the sillicone
