Hi, My sunroof has jammed in the tilted position, just wondered if anyone knows how to get it down...it wont wind down manually.

It was working fine but jammed when it was fully back - the motor spins but nothing happens so I pulled the sunroof fully forward - once I can get it lowered I'll pull the fuse and never use again lol

Any advice greatly appreciated coz its raining and my bin bag cover wont last for long aaaarrgggh:)

Have you taken out the interior light ,to try and get a hold of the cables ? I doubt you will find a solution in there but its worth a try .

If you've got a tarp , you could drape it over the roof and tie it down to the wheels for the night or till it dries up .

Thanks, I'll try and see if I can see some cables in the morning - its a bit cramped in there where the motor is but I'll have a look.
Yeah I have a cover over it for now thanks cheers for the reply!!

Cheers Freelaner - I tried pushing it down but it wouldnt budge - even tried collapsing the hinges at either side with a screwdriver still no joy...so will it go down with a bit more force then Freelaner??

if you slide a flat bladed screwdriver along the runners you should be able to collapse the tilt, i didn't force it a lot

try pushing the sunroof up slightly to take pressure off the hinges

this happened to mine last year,
i had to remove the glass (2 small screws each side), then this gave me access to the operating mechanism, , i found part of the plastic housing which locates the cable end had broken,
i repaired it using a piece of aluminium plate, quite easy to do but a fidly job setting it up, took best part of a day to do ,
works perfectly now
it would pay to lubricate the mechanism on a annul basis, as the plastic runners and part that holds the cable end is a bit flimsy any stress will cause these to break off

good luck

Thanks very much John and everyone - got the sunroof lowered, thanks for your post John T :) I would't have known what to do without you guys.
Fuse is out for now John, but I might have a go if the temptation to have everything working on my freelander overcomes me lol.
