Hello Folks...

After a long extensive trip to Latvia via Germany and Holland I returned to the UK, whats this to do with sunroofs? I hear you ask..

While cruising the highways and byways of Europe I would liked to enjoy the opening of the sunroof but Nothing.... no noise zilch.

I used an allen to open it the other day and the motor would not open it but would close it so i know power is getting to the motor I tried another switch but the persistent fault stayed... any ideas? before i entomb the sunroof with mastic forever....

This is more general as I am not familiar with the electrical layout of the sunroof but often with motors, the switch acts to change the polarity so the motor turns one way to close, the other to open. Use a multi meter to check power gets the the motor at both switch positions, if so, then it might be the gear wheels inside the mechansim that are worn - often they are plastic and the teeth wear. Or check the mechansim is lubricated, if its stiff to operate, the motor might not have the power to overcome this.
