Suck or Blow

Woz looking at leckie fans to fit after I took me viscous one off, and I aint paying undred odd quid for a Kenlow or Pacet specially as it should only be used in emergencies.
But there appeared to be suck or blow versions, now I know ones for mountin in front of the rad and one for behind and I'll be doing it from behind....
So which do I want, I would have thought suck,so it would draw cool air over the rad but surley a suck is just a blow in reverse!!!

They will suck or blow - just reverse the connections.
If its the engine side of the rad, you want it to suck.

You definitely need a suck!!! Trewey gorra cracker, as he's about to post.....

Wunt be as close to the rad then, not as effective.

Pug 306 ones are good, cos they are a twin fn arrangemet, about the same size i am told.

So yer just 'no-nails' the ****er on backwards..! Sortid.

The 17 quid one I fitted just had angled fins (not curved) so it works both ways. Does a perfectly adequate job.

Pair ov rover 600 fans are supposed ter be good. there's a bloggy type thingy on one of the landy sites summwhere?? Google it ya'll soon find it.

But i would say, my 200 has yet to get over half temp without one.

I actually switched mine on for the first time in anger yesterday.
I had half a tonne of pheasant food in the back and was reversing up a long steep hill in low / difflock with a fair bit of wheelspin due to greasy surface.
I noticed that the temp gauge was over 3/4 so I erred on the side of caution.

just as well you had it then!! Did it make a noticeable difference?

Would probably have been OK and yes, the temp dropped back to 1/2 very quickly.

As Trewey says only needed for emergencies, will cobble summink together when I get a chance, but I'll be wanting one o them mud pods for the switch, and if I get one o them I might as well get some guages, and I'll need more stuff to run off all them switches I can put on it....and so it goes on........and on....Land Rover money pit nah!

Pug fans are dirt cheap on fleabag, there's a BIN for a tenner and it looks the biz! (One for a fiver if yer in wakefield or somewheere)
