Hi all

I have a lot of condensation when I start my 2a SWB and I think that there maybe a weeping head gasket so I think its head off again and get it skimmed.

But I was thinking why do we use water as a coolant?
Could we not fill the radiator with engine oil ?
this would still move heat away from the cylinder head and it would have the advantage of not causing rust and if it did leak it would not contaminate the engine oil.

When I think about it it has more advantages than disadvantages to using oil.
Is this a stupid question and I'm missing something?

water flows quicker and gets rid of heat quicker.it cheaper and it dunt make as much mess when you burst a hose....imagine the fun you would have if yer heater core leaked in yer wagon... i think you need to go back to the drawing board and see if you can come up wiff a workin brain before you try to upgrade yer cooling system

The real problem is once oil heats up it stores the heat, thats why they use it in heaters. So if it was in your motor it would get hotter as yer fan would not be able til transfer the heat fast enough.

yeah then you use it to move a flexible belt to turn a round thing wiff rubber on (lets call that abit a wheel for now). then put another 'wheel' at the other end on a pivot so you could steer and to make it look pretty we could put a badge wiff some guns on it and call it a bsa

****in brill yella i'll go wiff that name.. what can we invent next?? how abart getting some bread and slicing it.. ave been using me loaf all night trying to think what i could call that.. any ideas??
