L322 Stuck suspension strut bolt.

A few lock to lock turns will tell you probably , forward and reverse in off road height and access, you might want to make sure you have enough oil in it, if it was jacked up it might not have leaked anyway but worth a check

Just waiting on a new bolt, tyre back on last night and its still up this morning.

Tried pulling shaft out and no movement, will try the left/right etc once we up and running. No oil evidenced to be leaking now level but it might be empty :)
 
These are good things to take to the main dealer, i know it costs money, but they CANNOT charge you more than the standard time for the job. Or at least that was the rule times may have changed.
 
It’s one of those jobs that are simple , until something goes wrong.
When mine went to the main dealer to have the immobiliser link reprogrammed , before the faultmate arrived, it also needed a front strut due to a a leak . They quoted me £1000 to replace one side part and labour which I thought was a little high but at £150/ hr it soon adds up. At the time I think a pair of Delphi struts were £500

Oil change is easy enough, I think it gets its oil from the front diff.

All sorted in the end - £12 for a new bolt and nut delivered, £130 for the strut. Would have been £500+ at a independent even if one was open - I had one done on the 3.0 L322.

Car leveled up fine - no issues.

I wouldn't expect the other side to be such and issue as generally rust is passenger side but it seems ok so will leave that for now.
