Sorry it didn't work out... I never buy stuff for my Landy from abroad, so I can't really help any more than I did. Buying a new one could be a solution, but they really are expensive.

As for using a Defender's, maybe someone more knowleageable could help, but you could also try ringing a local indy and they would definitely know the answer.

I am in Spain near Cadiz with disco and caravan at the moment, starting to head north in a week or so home in about five or six weeks. I wouldn't mind bringing one back if you could find one.

No worries Yoguko - I really appreciate you putting me in touch with your contacts. Triumphman - I'm starting to think in terms of getting a recent Defender axle instead but if I do track down a swivel housing near you I'd be glad to take you up on your kind offer.

Got a 2003 Defender axle on the way. Looking forward to the beast having steering again. It's nowhere near mobile yet, but at least this will be one step closer!
