Glad to see you boys had a great weekend. Shame we didn't meet but didn't get on the Strata until 1 o'clock but glad we made the trip. Longest lane I have done in one go - and luckily no issues.

90 made it fairly easy but you certainly need to be concentrating in places.:D Was glad the fords were all low, didn't want to have to turn round and go back - maybe a Snorkel is not just for show:eek:

Great fun though - have to find time to do some more now:)

Are there any driveable rights of way on the Sennybridge ranges (when there not blowing the crap out of them) ? Looked interesting place when we drove through - specially the Sniper village:cool:

Had a great weekend. ourselves started at Brechfa, and ended up at Barmouth. wild camped Fri & Sat. I'd post a link to me vid but it'd just get deleted by Mods. :( if anyone wants to see it it's on youtube. & FB

We had some time around Brechfa last Saturday, met in the village around 10am then headed off from there. Ended up cutting the day short as the guy in the lead lost all forwards gears on his auto box (just at a really bad uphill hairpin) and we ended up winching everyelse bar the Td5 with traction control through it then helping him finish the lane in reverse, then near the end my bias plate broke so denying me the use of my reverse!!

Good day though.

If it is any consolation I broke my diff on Strata and did the rest of the weekend in two wheel drive with the help of top man Benny and his awesome Defender.

I know that hairpin. Did it two winters ago and the Series I was with had trouble bottoming out on the leaf spring plates in the ruts. Got the Td5 90 (no TC) I was driving almost out of the ruts but ran out of momentum with 3 feet to go.

ha thanks m8 glad you had a good day.. :D.. have you got the diff and the other thing you was looking at yet  well hurry up as wer of out again soon :D i'll let you tow me this next time hahahaha
wer looking to go out on the 2nd of next month

Clutch and oil seal all overhauled, now the Diff and lack of traction to sort out. It'll just be a day out and not the mammoth two day event like last time. Doesn't take very long to get to the cafe that early in the morning.

Let me know when you are out again and i'll be there.

On the way back on Sunday we found some quite interesting lanes between Bala and Welshpool so I am starting to formulate a route around there.

Memory Map and GPS is definately the way to go.
