Strange Problem

I put my key in the ignition the other day and it said low battery so on the night I decided to change it.

I took the battery out and replaced it, but did not realise you had to do it in under a minute otherwise it would loose it's settings! So my key lost the settings and I had to do the x turns right, x turns left in the lock to get in. Then I re-programmed the key by pressing unlock and then unlocking the car - which I had to do SEVERAL times before it finally worked.

I finally managed to get it working but it was very reluctant to lock or unlock, it also seemed sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't.

THEN the next day I came out to unlock my car only to find instead of the hazard warning lights flashing, the headlights and brakelights flash? Whats going on??

Anyone got any ideas??

Did it specifically say the fob's battery was low? Might it be the car?

Yeh it said "Remote battery low" or something along the lines. I've now programmed my other key to unlock the car but it's still doing headlights and brakelights, weird???

Data corruption in the BECM. Is the vehicle battery good?
