Well today is finally the day the td5 goes in for the gearbox repair after what seems like the longest Christmas period ever.
However the motor hasn’t been touched since mid December so I’d left the battery off, put the battery on and it started and ran spot on, knowing there’s enough oil in the box I figured I’d give it a run around the estate ( private) there’s a weird problem appeared , when I accelerate quite hard it bogs down before pulling fine, I thought it was gearbox related but it does in when in neutral, a sharp jab on the accelerator shows the same thing -a slight hesitation before picking up revs, then I also noticed on overrun the revs bounce , nothing on the Rev counter,
The car ticks over fine and pulls fine once past the hesitation, no codes stored on a basic code reader,
Fuel wise the car has had in tank pump, plastic lines, fuel filter+housing bleed valve etc , injector seals , loom
I can only compare it to an old carb motor when they changed from idle to main jet when the main jet was slightly blocked
Any suggestions would be great and very appreciated

Not sure why you would be driving it in that manner if you know there is a gearbox issue o_Oo_O
Anyway - how cold did it get down your way over the time it was laid up? Waxing in or around the fuel filter comes to mind.
:)

it was only a steady drive around the block just to clean brakes off etc but was still noticeable after coming off the accelerator then accelerating again, there’s not a mechanical gearbox issue as such just an annoying leak , I was only jabbing the accelerator while in neutral stationary,
Thanks for the pointer though I’ve not tried it since it’s all thawed out around here and it was minus 5 tbh , Is this something they suffer with a lot ?
