Strange pipe to inlet manifold

I have changed the inlet manifold on my stage 1 v8 109
I have come across a strange pipe that come from the exhaust on the offside that connects to the top centre of the inlet manifold any one know what this is and or does

Is it the flexy pipe coming off the top of the manifold..?

The only pipe I can think of is the intake heater pipe. It draws warm air from the exhaust manifold into the air intake to help the engine warm up quicker.

In fact it's a VERY original feature, the vast majority if early v8s have this removed!!

Cherish that part and FFS do not bin it!!
