Strange noise on tight cornering after new rear diff

Hi All,
I have a Freelander query so figured this is the most sensible place to ask for advice!
My 2007 Freelander TD4 developed the dreaded rear diff whine. I took it to a specialist that was recommended to me and I fully trust what they have done however i picked it up earlier and it drives lovely in a straight line but since it has been with them firstly the hand brake no longer works as it did (not sure if that is connected,) but more concerning is now when you turn a tight corner the car judders and makes a dreadful noise. Before I go back to them, i just wanted to see what you guys think it could be and is it likely to be something they have done?

If it wasnt doing it before then obviously its due to what they have done.

They obviously didn't road test it.

Is it a F1 or F2?

The parking brake cables might well have been damaged in the diff removal operation. The cables are a known weak point and can seize or break, especially at 15 years old.

Have they filled up the Haldex correctly? Did they replace the filter while the Haldex was removed from the diff?
It's also possible that the PTU splines have also failed, which was being masked by the failed diff.

They did say it was always there and had not been noticeable due to the diff, however the diff made no noise at low speed and i did not notice it then, he also had said its a common noise and most people just ignore it, but i can not see it getting through its mot in a few months time like it.

The AWD system on the FL2 shouldn't make any noise, mine doesn't.
Also the parking brake should be capable of locking the rear wheels with just a modest pull of the lever, so that's not right either.
I'd take it for a second opinion, preferably by a proper specialist like Bell Engineering.
