Strange noise from underneath - can't figure it out

ok, small update for you all:

I did the radius arm bushes at the end of last week. It wasn't technically difficult, but it was like wrestling a bear! This landy is a very steep learning curve.

anyway, I finished about 11:30am on saturday, and we were due to go to wales at 12pm. Out for the test drive, and the wobble was still there. tbh, i'd lost the will to fix it at this point. I took a neighbour with who confirmed that it deffo wasn't wheel balancing, and he could see the front wheels moving side to side.

anyway, garage had it, and gave me a courtesy car for my trip - and for the commute to work this week. The rang me yesterday to say that they had it on the ramps and could find any play in anything (not significant play anyway). he also said "on the basis of what we saw on the ramp, we wouldn't normally have even road tested it.". Anyway, luckily he did road test it, and it scared the crap out of him. After another bit of searching, they found that the panhard rod bush(es) were buggered - but only evident when running under load.

anyway, fingers crossed I'll have it back to do, and it'll all be fine. I know I'll get rinsed on labour, but tbh, I'd have spent at least the same amount on other parts based on my "guess list".

Any news as i think i have the same problem.

sorry, forgot to update the thread..

yeah it turned out to be the panhard rod bushes. they were pretty perished apparently. It seems that if it's axle wobble, it's either going to be radius arm bushes, or panhard rod bushes.

she drives like she used to now :)
