My 1998 DSE came with two fobs, one old original one and a new one the previous owner got from LR. Both have been working perfectly for the last couple of months. Used the original one on Friday and the dash said fob battery low. Bought some new batteries on Saturday and had to re-synch the fob by turning the key in the drivers lock with the lock button pushed. Worked absolutely fine and able to lock and unlock the car. Went to use the car a couple of hours later and the fob doesn't work. Re-synched it again no problem. Used the car this morning (Sunday) with no problem but when I parked up after an hours drive and tried to lock the car the fob isn't working again. The little red light etc. works but no response from the car. I had the new fob with me just in case so not stranded but can't see why the original fob keeps losing synch? Any ideas? I haven't had any problems at all with locks or alarms etc.

Turned out 'twas a loose battery holder on the fob which meant that every so often the batteries weren't making contact properly. Cured with a refurb. kit consisting of new holder, o-ring and buttons. Works perfectly.:D
