Strange brief power steering loss....

Went through a large puddle in a car park, and by large I mean in area not in depth, and lost power steering for a good minute, then it returned. Whats that all about?? The wife not impressed with its lack of 4x4ness lol

Any ideas anyone?? If it matters it was on a tight turn so was probably near to full lock.

Belt slip.

Yup - what Paul ses. If it's anything older than a couple of years - don't toss about re-tensioning, just replace the belt and save yourself the hassle

Yup. You can get away with it for ages, but one day it'll just go. If you have a look at it you'll see lots of little cuts in it, eventually a few join up ...
