As you know My cruise "Jammed On" t'other week, ( Bellows sucked flat & Me hammerin along at 95MPG up a Side street!!)

Me Brake switches "Appear" to work Am I right in assumin that the "Knock off" side, i.e. when I hit the brake the Pressure is released in the Bellows & everything should return to normal is is PURELY MECHANICAL & not controlled from the Cruise ECM ???

My Train of thought is ..... I push the "Set" button, the Cruise ECM checks the Speed sensor, kicks in the Vac pump & Adjusts the bellows accordingly when I hit the Brake the pressure is released from the bellows & (As I said) everything returns to "Normal"

Cheers

The brake light switch is dual purpose, straightforward electrical switch for the lights together with electrical input to the cruise control and a mechanical "Switch" which opens the vacuum to atmosphere. The complete switch part no. ERR2622 has been known to fail and costs all of £7.06 incl VAT (Rimmers price)

YAY!!!!!!!.............. Cheers Irish ..... See, I didn't know the bit about the "Dual Purpose" thing ...... NOW ..I'm seeing the light!!!!

See, my brake pedal has a ..."Sorta Click" I've posted before about it ... Sometimes when I brake the pedal will move downwards by about 5 to 10 MM with a "Clunk" ( Sounds/feels like a cotter pin slipping) ...... it does not effect the brakes though

I'm now thinkin the Movement/clunk COULD be the switch sorta "Givin way" internally.

Ideas are most welcome Gentlemen ......
