Hi, I've set about fitting a bearmach metal mushroom type snorkel to my K plate defender 90 and the Kit includes 2 gaskets to be used at the base of the snorkel, where it is fitted to the air intake opening.

One of the gaskets goes in between the plastic inner intake housing and the wing panel and the other goes on the outside of the wing between the wing and the snorkel base.

So my question is related to the first gasket which slots in between the wing and the plastic inner housing. I'm supposed to apply sealant to both sides of the gasket and then put it in place - currently the inner housing is still sitting in it's proper location - am I supposed to be attempting to place this sticky gasket in place by sliding it in between the wing and housing?? Or should I have removed the inner housing in order to put the gasket in place, before replacing the inner housing? (e.g. From inside the engine bay). It doesn't look very accessible so I'm hoping im not supposed to remove it but at the same time I can't imagine inserting the sticky sealant covered gasket into place is going to be easy.

Any advice appreciated.

Den.
