Having spent hours sorting out a RAVE download, and not been the sharpest tool in the box I didn't find it easy, I thought it would be nice if we had a sticky on it?

I originally downloaded it from one search, only to find it didn't cover my vehicle, so I had to do a few searches, and a few more downloads, and delete a few unwanted files, and burn a couple of discs, and swear a lot.

I now have a shortcut on my desktop which opens the files on a disc I've burnt, probably not the best solution but at least I now have the correct manual for my hippolander.

To get there, I needed to download a program called PowerISO, thanks to advice from GasFiredDisco on this forum, and the advice he posted back in 2009, to open the files listed on a link to another forum, unless someone has a complete guide already done which could be stickied? I've also seen advice on using a program called Daemon tools lite posted by sierraferryto view the files.

Thanks for the Rave link. If you have Windows 7 and Acrobat then you don't need any other software to burn to disc or use. Took me about 15 mins to download and burn to disc and about 2hrs playing with it after.

Where did you download it from?

If you look for the post in this thread from oddjob just look for LINK (near the end of the post) underlined just click on this and all will be revealed. It is a large download, 600 + MB, so it's best burnt onto a DVD.

I can even tell you that it is the 5th post from the top - but please read the first post while yu are there.

Is there a version of RAVE that covers the 2005 facelift Freelander?

pick up a haynes manual for the differences on the facelift model but the rave will cover all mechanical stuff anyway.

i did, however, have a us version of rave that did have the facelift model on it but only the kv6 engine (only one available in the us) but cannot find the disc ANYWHERE

Well, that's what a forum is all about, helping each other.

Couldn't find it in the FAQ section, but after clicking all the links in there and trying the search section I had a peek in the Common Faults and Questions section, and there it was, 5th post down.

The aim of my thread was to place a guide or link in the Freelander section for Freelander owners who use the Freelander page, as I'm guessing that most of us don't dare leave our section for fear of being mown down by a tratter boy. Doing a search, as so often advised, brings up 500 threads for RAVE download, only going back to 2009, your thread, The Mad Hat Man (what's your hat mad about?) was in 2007, and wasn't in the search results, you're outdated :mil23:
