Stereo code help please?

Hello. My brother has just bought a 96 RR 2.5 HSE. However the code is missing for the stereo. Does anyone have the disc and can tell me the code? The serial is 484914476.

As far as I know it is main dealer only for that info.

Ah ok. He's a mechanic by trade and has discs and codes for various makes and models but says he has none for Landys. Hence he asked me to ask. He's non-tech when it comes to the Web.

Providing it's the original radio you will get it from a Range rover dealer off the VIN number. Either that or take it to a radio shop they should be able to extract it.

Check the back of the fuse box cover under the driver's seat. Sometimes they are printed there.

If the handbook is there it should be recorded on a card and in one of the manuals.
Otherwise, dealer.

Alas no manuals or anything were with the vehicle. Thank again. He'll have to call LR or put another head unit in.

A replacement head unit may not be straightforward.

I didn't have any codes for mine (aftermaket but no EKA code either), went to a dealer with the V5 and she gave everything to me FOC, saves messing around with electrics, especially if it has the hi-line harmon kardon system fitted.

Non dealer garages don't seem to give a hoot about losing the radio code when they disconnect the batterys from customers cars. There must be a simple way around it.

my garage friend has a keep alive battery he connects up when changing battery's and always asks customer if they have code when he cant use it
