Bloody hell that's nowt. I've had to put a sheet of 1/2" ply in mine to avoid going thru the Thing.

i may cover it up for now and wait till the end of the month and just set a sunday aside with me and the welder and save the cash what do u rekon, u rekon it will last for a few weeks?

i wish mine looked that good, will be making me own floor and x members when i get round to doing it (in the diary for 2009)

No that's insignificent I can actually get my hand thru mine whilst taking the towbar off mine one of the nuts slid down the chassis rail. and got lost between the tank and the chassis rail. So i lifted the carpet and reached thru the hole in the floor to retrieve it.

been doing the cross meber on a RR classic over the weekend, its not as bad a job as it looks, its just all the jacking and prising the body from chassis to get the cross member in right, next job is the boot floor and sills on my 200, dont know why the the floor has gone but i checked my cross members today and they are solid?? doesnt look like they have been replaced either. i have been taking pics to do a lil write up on it on the RR which ill post in there section but when i do my sills and floor ill post that one up in here for you all.

WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

when i did my in my last discovery i went rond with a spot weld drill and drilled all the spot welds off !
3 coats of hammerite on the new panel and riveted it back in there isnt really a need to weld it as it is not structural and its easier to get rivets out if for any reason you ever need it out again
also while the floor is out its a good time to do any brake pipes as access is better

yer we did look at the pop rivet side of things its just as easy but if bits have rusted away then if the welder is out when making new plates etc up then its just as quick to puddle weld, hopefully it wont have to be done for another 17 years haha :)

decided the plan of action, im gonna do the floor at the end of the month as i did an event today and did some deep water and it came through the carpet and boot seal into the cab lol! trickled down into the rear passenger footwell.

So thanks for all the advice and pics, ill be posting up my own pics of the event ill be grinding it back then riveting it as i feel thats the best idea and not replacing the crossmembers and i have looked that mine are in tact but i will be sanding them down, hammeriting them along with the top hard to reach bits of my chassis, and everything else that i can get my brush to whilst the floor is up it has to be the best rust protector out there and fitting my braided brake lines:cool:

should be an all w-ender

how deep was the wading? i'd look at some new seals round the doors etc if it was comming in through into the cab, i only get water into the cab when the water level is not far of the top of the doors and that seems to come in through the dash somwhere. you looked at the bottoms of the "A" pillars for any corrosion? there a favorate to go aswell.

about half a foot below my window but i found where it came from as it wasnt really watter it was more sludge i circled it in the red came under the boot seal and down there thats why im definitely gonna do it this month
