Steering

Hello, getting there with the landy now most things working fine. Steering is extreamly stiff in places and then it goes light. Almost like its lumpy feeling. Did get an advisory on the MOT for being notchy. I have found the lower UJ to have a fair bit of play in it. Could this be the problem or would that not cause really bad steering feel?

Maybe dodgy bearings on the swivel pins?

Hmm could be! Going to strip it down at the weekend and have a look. Some people were telling me it could be the worn uj but though that woudl just give side to side play not really stiff steering

ujs can seize ,steering box can be adjusted badly or just worn ,steering damper can give issues ,you need to jack it up and disconnect things in turn whilst checking movement at the road wheel
