I need to change my steering wheel its gone mank , Was thinking another standard wheel or maybe a bit smaller , what is a good size . 12 inch 13 , 14 , 15 . Dont want to huy a 14 inch and its stupid small .

Thanks , I did think 14 was to small . I'm bidding on one QR boss etc , I was going to let it go . But if you think its ok . Standard are 16 which made me think a bit small .

I've got a 14 I think...might be a 13 actually I forget. Deffo not bigger than 14 though. No issues assuming you have pas.
Diskloc caused me some issues though as the smallest was too big so I had to modify it.

Thanks for your help . It is handy to know even a 13 would be ok . I don't have the elbow room problem , so size does not really matter . I very nearly got a deep dished wheel , but realised that perhaps would be a problem as im not 6 feet tall .
Are yours flat wheels .

@bongo1
I've measured my wheel and it is 13",slight dish, not much.
The boss has moved it closer to me though so it's not so easy now to reach the indicator stalk but still ok.

The smaller the wheel the less the leverage, I would imagine the manuf. takes that into account when designing the vehicle's steering layout.
Such a departure from manuf. spec.could be considered a mod. by your insurance co. & (unlike camshaft swaps etc) be obvious if to an insurance assessor in the event of a claim, especially if your car was recovered & locked in a secure compound out of your reach. :rolleyes:

I know it's an old thread, but talking of (possible) mods. has anyone heard the outcome of the accident where a Disco shed a wheel that killed a young child walking on the footpath. The incident was discussed on this forum, was it last year or even the one before?
