Steering wheel puller

I've thought about it. If cheap enough and easy enough to purchase I was willing to save myself the bother just this one time :)

I had a very tight steering wheel, pulled, beaten, malleted, 200lbs of annoyed gent hanging on it, still no joy. Always suspected the PO had used a clear glue of some sort on the splines.

It even stripped the threads in the steering wheel when I made a heavier duty puller, ended up retapping to iirc M8, then it came off . Comes off nice and easy now I tell you.

Good luck, they can be a PITA at times.

Cheers

I think that's the way mine might be going as it doesn't seem to be budging at all.

Be interested to hear what works. I need to replace my indicator/flasher switch soon, and I know from previous attempts that the Mallet Method to get the wheel off ain't gonna shift it.
Steering wheel puller/bearing puller works most of the time, if not, you may need to make your own heavy-duty version and tap the threads on the wheel to take larger bolts, as Neilly has done.
