Can anyone assist? I am in the process of replacing the power steering pump on a 99 (T) defender 110 TD5. The replacement part is second hand from a breakers. I was informed it would fit, I asked as I suspected it was from a Disco.

I have found that the mounting plate that fits at the front is different, this was not a problem as I swapped it with my faulty pump. Now that I have the pump on I have found that the upper hose will not fit as the connection is smaller than the fitting on the end of the hose.

This brings me, at last, to my question. Are the two pumps the same, Disco and Defender, and do I just need the swap the female part of the hose connector from the original, on the pump itself?

Also I am also concerned if the pump is different it will not engage with the water pump, as this went together a bit too easy...

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Radds.

Is the upper hose on the return or the high pressure side?

The HP side has a banjo bolt on and the other is a push-on pipe, so what fittings are you talking about?
