steering probs

Hi,
I had a dead disco ,it needed new battery due to cold weather got that sorted and all seemed fine. I drove happily for a couple of days but this morning went to turn round and seemed like no power steering.
have checked fluids and not getting any strange noises AND when car is moving and engine warm steering is fine,

Any clues what the problem is ????

The wife's Subaru does this on damp mornings - it's the steering pump drive belt slipping. Make sure the belt and pulleys are clean and free from oil and the belt hasn't gone hard with age and check the tension is correct. The Scooby needs readjusting about every four months. If this doesn't fix it then someone will come along with another suggestion soon....
