Evening,

I noticed about three weeks ago that the steering on my 90 had gone a little wierd. When turning the steering wheel it would turn so far, harden up, and then ease right off, as if it were getting caught on something and then moving over it.

Today, I bumped my car over a root on the drive and my steering sems to have gone back to normal, and the wheel turns freely all the way around and spins back to the centre once I've turned a corner and let go of it.

Did I have something stuck that I have dislodged, or is this a sign of another problem?

Thanks in advance for any help

sounds like one of the knuckles between your steering box and colum are worn not a big problem to fix can be done by yourself quite easily

Try spraying a drop of wd40 on the first uj out of the steering box, sounds like it started to seize and the jolt loosened it again, won't hurt to spray it. prevention better than cure an all that.

Thanks for the replies! The steering ujs were a bit dru and xlogged so ive given them a spray with wd40. Should be alright now =)

Thanks again

Not a good way to drive, your not actually in control of the car at this point, YOU steer your car, don't let it steer you or merely give it a point the right direction.

I don't always let the wheel spin freely (don't see anything wrong with it though). I did however, notice that it wouldn't spin freely as it should which is why I was concerned.
