hi, I have a classic 3.9 1994, on staring when I turn on full or near full lock I get a sort of gurring noise on the steering, once its warmed up after a few minutes, the noise stops (think shes female). Its ok on nomal gentle steering when cold. Can you help on where to start looking or what to replace??
cheers all......

check change fluid.check, hoses for steering pump and bearings probably starting to wear you should try to avoid fulllock it strains the pump

When you turn onto full lock the bypass valve in the pump may rattle as it relieves the pressure. As the fluid warms and thins it will go away. Changing the fluid maybe a good move.

thanks for the replies, ill give the fluid change a go, but never done that before, take it its not too difficult to do??

use a thin piece of hose ,put on bleed nipple on top of the box ,place the other end into a suitable container ,keep res topped up till clean oil is running out of pipe
