steering lock problems

Hi all I have a big problem on my hands. The steering lock has engaged on my landy and I don't know how to release it. Also the ignition barrel has locked ad well so I cannot turn the key. Help

Put the key in apply a small amount of pressure , then with the other hand turn the steering wheel to take the pressure off the lock Pawl might have to try both ways.

If it is a doozle series three they are near impossible to find new. I removed the tang from mine and use it without locking facility.

sounds like the lock is operating normally to me, when the lock is engaged the ignition barrel will lock, try what Blackburn says, if you have to take the ignition and lock off to replace it, I got one from lrseries.com

the modern ones don't have the guide for the engine kill cable but you can swap it over if you are careful.

the bugger is getting the shear bolts out that hold the ignition and lock mechanism around the steering column, I had to use an electric hacksaw in the end.
