Evenin all, after replacing my bent steering rods with hd ones I fooked my tracking and steering (don't ask how). After getting it summert rite I noticed that the steering wanderd and every time I hit a bump the steering shot to one side or the other which can make interesting driving. I replaced my steering damper which was goosed so I assumed that will sort the bump issues. No. I replaced the box with a "good" one. It's just as bad, there is about two inches of movement in the steering wheel/box before the wheels turn. Could the issues above be still be caused by the tracking or is it summert else?

check panhard rod bushes? yu can tighten the steering box up to remove the play. Just don't over do it.

Did you get the tracking done properly? I smacked the steering out on my 110 last year and even though I was only out by a couple of mm my steering was all over the shop. It was like driving on a knife edge.
Didnt think of that tbh! I'm in the process of replacing the bushes but I ain't got round to them yet. I've adjusted the play to what it is now which I wasn't sure wether it was "over done" or not or if it was exagerating the problem. Also when I come to a stop I get a clunk from the front end like the axel moves forward and back with the effects of stopping. I still ain't got to the bottom of that issue either.
No I didn't get it dun propperly, my mate with a disco sed don't bother because of greenlaning wud knacker it again but I would much prefer being able to do 60 without it feeling like a shopping trolly.

It sounds like you do have another issue there with the clunking but my bet is that getting the tracking done will greatly improve the handling. If you don't get the tracking done you will wear your tyres prematurely too.
Pikey may well be right with the panhard rod bushes. Is the clunk definately at the front?
From what I can tell it is at the front but maby cud be the a-frame ball joint but I haven't noticed out rong with it when rocking the landy forward and back. Wud worn panhard bushes allow for axel movement? I will do the panhard bushes asap and I will go and get the tracking sorted aswell.
