Steering delay

I have a '94 Disco 300 tdi with 88k on the clock. When I drive at motorway speeds there is a delay from turning the steering wheel to the wheels actually moving of about 5 degrees. Can anybody advise what could be the cause please.

Pretty standard mate.

Typical landrover there's loads of joints in the steering system, just to make it more complex and greasy

Probably bit of play in steering column UJs and bit of play in steering box.

Not really worth worrying about IMO, it's kinda normal mate!

they were designed with sloppy steering so when you drive offroad it doesnt rip your thumbs off
