After months of inactivity due to a whole series of life events I've managed to get back into the saddle of Defender repairs.
I am currently replacing the bulkhead and ran into a hopefully minor problem.
After spending nearly an hour working out where I was at back in February....
I removed the windscreen as I am replacing the glass and rubber.
Freed up the bulkhead and managed to lift it out (which understates somewhat the effort required) The problem was the steering column which I could not remove.
On the engine bay side there is a plate that bolts to the bulkhead but will not fit over the column - or through the home
On the inside the of car there is the ignition switch block attached to the steering column by tamper proof bolts - which will of course not fit through the bulkhead
At present the column is still attached to the removed bulkhead - but I'm obviously missing something - do I have to destroy the anti-tamper bolts? Or is it something even easier?
