Stripped the bulkhead today. All but the steering wheel and column! :(

I can't see how it comes off.
There is a bracket on the engine bay side which won't come off over the end of the column. There is a circlip in the end near the splined end that connects to the UJ. Even if this has to come apart and slide up inside the column will the steering lock stop it?

This one shows the bracket that I can't get over the end of the column.

If the ignition barrel has to come off how do you do it? The two bolts that clamp it around the column don't have heads on them

The column & shaft comes off as one, don't try to dismantle it.

The steering-lock is held on with a pair of sheer-bolts, just tap them around with the point of a centre-punch (or similar) or drill the heads off.
The bit on the engine-side of the bulkhead is the steering column top support, it just unbolts.

At the end of the day you will be left with the column containing the shaft, the only protrusion is a single bracket which bolts to the bulkhead (dash side) and that is why the hole in the bulkhead is oval, it allows the bracket to pass through.

Bugger. So the steering wheel, ignition/lock etc have to come off then the column pushes through in to engine bay side.
