My steering box on 1958 Series 1 88inch is badly worn, will it be the same as any later models or can it be refurbished?

they are all similar but do differ in mounting hole size and column,only parts for series 3 are widely available at reasonable cost but early can be found at specialists in the older parts ,the big problem is bearing inner race is the column ,ive often cut new series 3 column in half and fitted the early to it
