Steering box

I've got a 2000 Td5 Disco which needs its steering box replacing.

I went to a supplier who I trust very well and asked for "a steeting box for a 2000 plate Disco 2". I've paid for the box and come away.

My question is (showing how thick I am here) is there only one type of steering box for a Disco 2? I didn't say Td5 to him - but then I don't know whether the Disco 2 had the 300tdi engine anyway.

Have I definitely got the right box?

Any photos of what it should look like?

There are more tipes of PAS Boxes, - Steering U have to be sure that the one you payed for is the right one.....check it's code and corroborate it with the VIN of your car

Where is the code on the box? The little plate? If so it says GBE 61 40000 0-F-001356

How will this relate to the VIN?

I hope u didn't waste the package of the steering box.........there must be the code, after that check out the link I gave you and see what kind of box is related to your car......Example> your car is RHD and VIN last digits are 245941 so you need QAF000010........the difference is between LHD and RHD boxes ......one is the other's a kind of "mirror image"

Believe it or not it didn't come in packaging - I honestly do trust this supplier and his knowledge. I've done a lot of business with him before, returned things with no receipt...even had them help me fit something I was struggling with at no cost.

I'm sure he's got it right - if not then it'll just have to go back. Sure it's just me panicking.

Sorted through what you've said and found a picture of QAF000010 - it's definitely that one and not the LHD mirror image.
