Sorry don’t take photos of each item(takes the fun out guessing)plus most of mine get changed to suit me.;)
But ask if you unsure I can take photos & point in the right direction. I do now work away all week(mon/fri) so getting photos
quick will be a pain.

Welding and fab goes how I want it 9-10 now. Yesterday I did the fender patch with the strengthener in in an hour. Wouldn’t have been capable of that a year ago which is great. Her eyes lit up when she saw bulkhead on. I’ve still work to do around back of chassis but thought I’d get this on and full of wax now weathers changing. It also gives you that project boost you require.

D1 - got some box and more sheet for boot, inner wing ns needs that little body mount repair panel and mount and then I’ll build from there. Edc will be going. Annoyed about that but never mind. Need a few bits to get somewhere but mot wise I think it’s under 500 then the wheels off you. I’m still hankering for a fender though
I think once done, the defender lust should ease. I am knackered this morning after all the lifting etc!

Which makes perfect sense but why did I write through the bulkhead on it lol!!!

I’ve had a great weekend this weekend. Starting to realize that this is what I want to do. I know people say keep a hobby as a hobby but I get satisfaction from this. Who knows. I think I’m going to try and get a bit of local work on side once these are done.

Anyways, she’s coming along nicely

Cos it came out from the bulkhead:confused:

Looking good by the way:)

Keep a hobby a hobby, work on the side if it’s gonna get you Land Rover tokens:). I had all the available garage facilities when I was younger but never followed Dad. (Learnt a load of **** though:))

It goes through that black plastic thing above the pedals ;) make sure you have slack for when you put into the speedo
Also the cables for the heater come out there.

Yeah the red one - got it through there at the moment just wrong direction lol.

This bulkhead has been treated in some way. Maybe blasted. It’s too clean under the paint and that red isn’t above a primer. I have scoured all the red and brushed back where loose then covered it in lidl metal paint lol. That’s what was in stock. Puraflex down every seam joint and crevice

Another section in on fender! Yeah I patched it - I know it’s lazy but I got to weld a new bottom in anyway so can douse from the inside with paint n wax,
Detached all rear axle also. Got onto the prop and then realized my yank spanners were at home somewhere. I’ll half to find one and hope it’s slim enough. 3/16? That new buzz gun sped things up to be fair!

Prop nuts are 3/8UNF you need a 9/16AF spanner, I bought a couple of Halfords pro 14mm jobbies and "engineered" them to fit snug.

Good to see you are still plugging away :)

How much more you got to do on it?

Thanks - I’ll have a 3/16 spanner in a dusty box..... somewhere.

Still a fair bit, off my head:

  • Weld up bottom of chassis box where I’ve done above repair
  • Weld up fuel tank cross member
  • Clean, fertan, paint rear axle
  • Refit rear axle with new shocks
  • Fab and weld rear cross member ends with tub supports
  • Full re- bush and paint arms
  • Replace broken brake lines
  • Wire in loom
  • Finish cleaning and paint chassis
  • Front end shocks, turrets and springs
  • Cambelt and relevant engine work
No doubt swivels, stubs etc but they aren’t the major stuff
