@The Mad Hat Man @dieseldog69 @Chrisw8

I'm going to a few breakers at the end of the month with a work van. If there's any bits you need let me know. Chris i can get parts over to Newport via supervisor - depot is not that far from kfc/big next. Have a think and let me know

Thanks for offer. I’m ok for things at mo.

Dropped one of the A arms on my foot while getting the balljoint off this afternoon. fek they’re heavy.!!

Rejoice!!!

Hard to right now after hitting my funny bone on the calipers bracket, but, I finally got the tap through the old hole and coiled it. I am very slightly off centre though so may need to slightly widen stub axle hole...

Has anyone any pics of rear brakes/hub mid strip down? I have all hub and stub stuff on rave but didn't take enough pictures. I have two slightly longer bolts and 5 short ones (thought there should be six short ones) the 2 longer have nylocs to match. I know the 2 12 points go calipers bracket

what axle

what axle
Sorry - rear. I have new disc mud shields, new seals and gaskets, hopefully stub axles will clean up fine, new drive member bolts.
I don't know why I didn't take more pictures. I need order of disc mud shield, calipers bracket etc. As said, I'm a bit for not taking pics of strip down - thought it was all in rave!

disco ,has 6 bolts holding stub and shield to axle case, if it had nylocs it suggests bust case threads

Yes six bolts same size. I wonder what the slightly longer ones are then. I've chased all threads after I ****ed those two that I recoiled

@jamesmartin just seen on a or tool box talk vid that 2 of the bolts are nut and bolt but that's obviously a defender Salisbury. Are discos always just straight forward 6 same sized bolts Then? What you said does make sense - if the casing thread is dead they may have used nut n bolt but they seem fine

that is a defender salisbury they are 6 nut bolts for drum and 4 nuts bolts plus 2 secure to caliper bracket for disc type,rover axles are all drilled and threaded so no nuts

Yes these obviously have their calipers bracket welded on. Thanks. I'll order a new set of bolts and double check all threads. Thanks for info/time

It got there in the end. Now for the satisfying assembly. Just waiting on some fresh stub axle bolts. Been cleaning and painting few bits. Cleaned up stub axles and cleaned up mating surfaces. Got everything here yo assemble rear axle bar the bolts. Was going to refurb my calipers but at 30 quid each I'd rather a fresh set. I'll buy those next month I think along with some bushes.
