Steep learning curve

Still soldiering on with an array of wire brushes and tin of paint. I've taken it all back to shiny all be it a little pitted metal. Takes hours to to an arms length but I'm getting there. I was a bit weary of using old hat paint as I know i would be better of with electrox or similar. It has stuck down nicely though and I'll use something heavy duty on top and do a bilt hamber order on payday!

Gets monotonous after a while but keep plugging away buddy.

The radio and beer keeps me going. I want to get tank dropped out next and chop out main floor support so I can get to the bits I'm currently skipping. Want rear quarters off too but think I'll wait until boots done. Front end isn't nearly as bad. It's odd as offside rear seems to be in worse shape than rest of car

After a bit of swatting up I think I will flap wheel off the red oxide - won't take long it's now clean underneath. Going to go with an epoxy primer instead. Probably bilt hamber. I don't want to do this twice or take shortcuts and sales the classic car people use epoxy....

So I'm still wrong!!! Psi gauge fits to hose but flowmeter doesn't fit to hose or psi gauge!!! why didn' I just buy a dual gauge reg

Went to the welding shop around the corner. Nearly bought a beautiful looking Harris regulator but thought twice. Asked for a cheap solution and got this. Plan is to put a tippex mark on my reg knob when I'm hitting around 10. Stick the gun in the rubber then pull trigger to measure flow.

Yeah. Just not chopping anything else out before I have the new panels you know? Want to test fit templates etc. Some goodies just turned up. The weight of the zinc primer is insane. You know it's good content when it weighs that much. Never used epoxy primer but have used electrox and some other products in past

Mate I am losing the will with this welding. I' set up, 10lpm through torch, wire feed fine, fan comes on with on switch then no arc???

best to check your ground clamp and cable

I am thinking it' rubbish earth or earth related. If it was kaput surely it wouldn't switch on and feed?

Bit of a step back to go forward but I feel happier knowing that I've done it right. Everyone has their own take on the rust fight. I took the red oxide back off then I slapped on a coat of deox and left overnight to work. Clingfilming the area prevents it drying out. The fact it was turning green within minutes made it worthwhile
