Is this common?

I go off road allot, would suck if my wheels packed it in!
They can fail much more easily, they may be lighter and give better MPG but you hit a rock at speed or drop the wheels at a height, then you can bend or snap the alloy wheels. If I was you, if you do a lot offroading I would invest in some steel wheels!

Thanks.

i think you would have to worry about what else your breaking if you go jumping your landrover:eek:
Depends what parts you have put on! I have seen a land rover jump a 5ft foot jump at about 20mph and land really badly but the the Land Rover was fine although I would never jump my Land Rover and I think if you kept doing it it would deffently break something

Yes you can.
LR alloys (including the centre-cap) fit with spacers and aftermarket (such as ZU's) fit with drums or discs.

fitted standard disco 200tdi alloys to my 110 till i got my wellers sorted. centre caps didnt go on but only needed 5mm spacers for the front (due to the large hub) and nothing for the drums at the rear.

a lot of what you read on here is more about the load rating of the alloy itself, boost alloys are the only ones that seem to be recommended (load rated) for the 110 but not sure about 90s :)

Keep the clutch in and the only thing really at risk is your shocks and springs.

Relatively cheap and easy fixes
