Stcking steering - linked to oil leak ?

right, my dads disco 2 TD5 has had a slow leak from somewhere in the engine bay for 1 or 2 months now, but he hasn't gone to get it looked at. NNNNNOOOOOOOWWWWWWW
My mum was out with it and the horse trailer this night and on 'realativley full lock' it 'jammed / sticked' and she says it was pure stuck and a fight to undo. Any clues as to what this could be, as a jamming steering wouldn't be very good at speed !!!!!!:screaming_bug_eye_f:screaming_bug_eye_f:crazy_driver:

Worth checking the power steering fluid level. I have a leaking power steering box - perhaps your dad does too.

please pardon my ignarence (if that's hoew ya spell it) but what/where are they ? (uj's)

thanks for that we he just had the whole box and pump and pipes replaced last year, but will double check

Deja vu here, check the 300Tdi Steering help thread ...

Swivels and CV joints might also need checking. An exploded CV can jam, as can a properly nackered Swivel.

Might also be worth checking tracking .. if it's too far out the track rod can jam at full lock, but it's very rare for it to happen, or it's bent!
