Starting Problems

My 300tdi has developed a starting problem

When turning the key it sputters and wont actually start without a bit of pushing of the accelerator pedal

Does this sound like glow plugs? or could it be not getting enough fuel to start maybe; hench why it fires up when pressing the accelerator?

Also, how do you know when to start the car? All other desiels I've had in the past have had a light on the dash that goes off, but my Disco 1 doesn't and hasn't since I bought it

it should have a light that comes on and you start when it goes off.
plugs dont actually go off when light does, they over run by2 or 3 seconds.

as an indication for you, when i sit in mine with the interior light on (door open or just switch it on), turn ignition on, light comes on, gooes out, (and i dont start it), couple of seconds later interior light gets a bit brighter and i hear the glow plug relay turn off.

I'm pretty sure mine doesn't have a light/symbol that illuminates on the dash

Does anyone have a photo of there dash where the light is?

Any reason why they wouldn't light up on mine? Could that also point to faulty glow plugs?

You'd know if you at a light on the dash for the glow plugs. Its orange, like a coil and comes on when you turn the ignition on.
