when ever i go to start my landy (v8) it seems to take an absolute age, apparently according to the previous owner it has always been like this.

wen u turn the key it makes all the usual winding and wering noises but u seem to have to pump the accelorator alot before it jumps into action an, sumtimes have to turn the key several times before it acctually starts,
this is not just wen its cold,

is there nethin ne1 can think of that may be causing this problem and nethin i can do to sort it, its begining to annoy me, a mate if mine sed just use easy start, but i dont rele want to start using it due to the long turm damage that it can cause.

a guy i know has a v8 landy too and his starts first time every time and his is older than mine.

if more info on the engine is required ie mods ect, then plz ask.

hope some one can help.

its a 3.5 rover v8 bored out to 4.0 its got a 4 barrell 390 holley with tubular headers, and a straight through sports exhaust. hope that helps.

i had a similar problem to this only with a diesel. it turned out to be the solenoid ontop of the starter motor.. i replaced both becuase it was overdue a new one. its probably just a wild stab in the dark but hopes this helps :)
