Starting problem

Went to start my 2002 discovery yesterday, the doors opened as normal but when I put the key in the ignition and turned it the engine cranked over but would not start Closed door and activated and de activated alarm and it started. Went to a friends for a cuppa when i came out same thing. However touch wood it has not done it since. has anyone had a similar problem?

From unlocking the vehicle to attempting to start it, was it longer than 30 seconds? We're you chatting or putting summit in the boot etc?

No tried starting straight away both times
