Last week, after work, I unlocked the doors, got in my car (FL2 diesel) docked the key and pressed start.
And nothing happened.
Lights were on, dashboard was lit as usual, all breakers ok… and nothing happened.
I tested everything I could think of. Battery ok, starter motor works (when power applied directly) but the engine wont start. Windows go up and down, there seems nothing wrong with the clutch sensor. Pressing start with the clutch down, nothing happens. When i do not touch the clutch the power goes off.
It seems as if the start interruptor (?) does not switch off, the fuel pump and the starter won’t work.
The Freelander is taken to the Landrover garage, with a spare key. There they say the car doesn’t work. It won’t start.
And they have been saying so for a week and a half.
I have tried to find a thread with a similar problem, but cannot find one - too many threads with “ won’t start”.
Does this sound familliar to anyone?

regards, Koen
