Barn yard Disco S1/2. My brother in law has a clapped out Disco. Its lying on a concrete slope in a an old silage pit. Used for field jobs. Recently he cannot start it. Engine turns OK but will not fire. Could the fuel have drained back. How do you bleed the system? I'm a series petrol guy so no idea. Thanks for your advice.

There is a 10mm nut at the front of the fuel filter, undo it and then pump the lift pump lever which is half way down the block under injector s 2 &3. This should manually drew fuel up from the tank to the filter in till all the air is out and just diesel is coming out. If not replace the lift pump. Normally about 20 quid

If the lift pump doesn't prime as Lyndon suggests flick the engine over and try again I think the cam that drives it needs to be in the right place
Good Luck
