Me again!
Just fitting a new solenoid to the landy , the new - bearmach one has no spade connector in the middle top like my old one, is this an updated part or have I been sent the wrong solenoid. Part number is 13H5952L
If it's right where does my top wire go to?
Cheers

You've got the right part number matey, looks like you've been sent something different. Is there no other connection point obvious?

Nope just a space where the spade conector should be.... I've wired it up( got the day off so might as well!)
And it starts up - but still need to know what it's for it's a green wire - doesn't look original - but goes along the loom. Wiper, lights all work

Does it go to your coil some have a resistor which is shorted out for starting!

Don't think so, there's only 2 wires on the coil, the now 'spare' wire runs along the loom cabling and disappears into it, I think it's then wires into a connector block with lots of others on the bulkhead. The wire is green.... But so are lots of wires on the Landy - think a PO bought a job lot

Here it is before it was removed.
The green wire is connected to the middle top and goes who knows where!
( The yellow wire goes from the mounting post to the battery earth)

The green wire might go to the starter motor. You need a connection to the battery but it should be the positive connection on the battery? The yellow wire looks very lightweight for what its supposed to be doing. Is that the fitted position? It should be bolted in just out of sight down to the left.where's the negative earth from the battery; it should go to the engine block.

There is still the big wires held on by nuts, one from bat - to engine. One from bat + to sol and one from the sol to starter motor, the yellow is I presume an extra earth wire between solenoid mounting and the battery put on by a previous owner.
Yep that's the fitted position. It's the green wire in the middle that has no place to go on the new solenoid, could it be a live feed for long disappeared extras? Car was built in 75 but not registered till 1980 so could be an ex military??? Was told it had been in Africa
