starter motor

hi, i am looking for a starter motor for a series 111, the one on it had a lucas part number on it which was 27460, i traced it to be a LRS 574. but i have also read a M45g would fit but carnt seem to find one. i also read one from a defender would do it but had a look on my dads 300tdi 1996 and it sort of looks the some but with no earth cable atachment on the back of the starter motor. dose anyone have any ideas many thanks

look behind yer seats,you should find a starter there if sum fooker int pinched it

i take it you mean the sarter handle, my grandad who owns it is 73 and dont think hes as strong as he used to be lol :biggrin1:

think the part numbers RTC5225 try a seach engine yer should find one then unless someone on heres got one goin free or cheap

thats for a petrol one mine is a deaisl sorry thats my fault i should have said

:doh: ERR5009 shud fit then cus im sure thas wot paddocks are floggin as a replacement

yup they are
ERR5009N Starter Motor - smaller Defender TD type. (replacement for larger S3 type)

yea that dose seem to be it, il order one tomorrow and hope that it is. thanks very much for your help will let you know how i get on
