Starter motor wont stop spinning.

Hi folks

Went to start the 90 this afternoon and it started up just fine, but then i noticed this noise...the starter motor was still spinning, it wasnt engaged but was still on.

I turned the car off and the engine stopped but the starter was still spinning away. I killed it with the battery cut off and obviously this stopped the motor, but now, even without the keys in the ignition, as soon as I turn the cut off switch back on the starter motor starts spinning.

Does anyone have any ideas on this one? Really hoping im not gona have to take the thing off but I know this is probably wishful thinking!

Stuck solenoid or stuck contacts on the solenoid. Whack it wiv an 'ammer and see if that makes it stop. Even if it doess, though, expect to play swap-the-starter.
