Series 3 Starter motor mounting bolts

Hello,

I am looking to see what size bolts are needed for mounting a series 3 petrol starter motor back onto the engine? Both of mine stripped when I took them out.

I hadn't planned to, It's not something I've done before.

What has stripped. The thread in the hole or the thread on the bolt. I can’t remember if they have nuts even though I’ve just rebuilt mine.

The thread on the bolts looks a bit rusty but relatively ok considering they've been in there for about 50 years but I've rounded off the heads getting them out. Striped may have been the wrong description.

Ah right. Looking at this https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams...arter-motor-and-solenoid-225-litre-diesel_356

they are either 7/16 x 1 3/4 or M10 x 45mm.
