Standard spec of TD5 90

hi, has anybody got a list of what was installed as standard spec for Defender TD5 90 S?
I’m picking up my new 2004 90 S on Monday and my neighbour has told me this afternoon that he thinks all TD5 have immobiliser which is controlled via a Land Rover alarm unit and I can get the ECU programmed with extra sensors to work as an full alarm etc! The guy that is selling it to me says it does not have an alarm to his knowledge.

mine doesnt have an alarm be grateful if it doesnt have one
 
I have a 2004 TD5 90 XS and it has a full alarm and immobiliser and never had any problems with it.
It has never gone off when it should'nt have, not sure if the S model has an alarm.

lucky then nothing but hassle with mine cant open doors etc only one door locks with fob and alarms goes off everytime mines a black edition a/c traction control abs etc none of which work
also have a 99 base model
 
Thats a problem with the locks, the alarm is working correctly, every now and then, during winter that happens and a few squirts of WD40 or better still silicon spray sorts the locks out.
 
The standard alarm works well but poses little threat to thieves.
The first thing to do is fit extra security such as a pedal lock.
The standard alarm can be improved by fitting a BBUS and relocating it from behind the N/S headlamp where it can easily be disabled. Also fuses can be fitted to the indicator feeds to stop the alarm being disabled by the thieves shorting out one of the lamps.
But don’t rely solely on the standard alarm/immobiliser. Get some extra security ASAP.
 
Thanks for the feedback, when I pick it up I will see if there is a controller in it. If the standard position is behind the N/S headlamp I will start there.
The defender is going to be stored in a locked alarmed barn, which is in a Dobermans courtyard that is covered with CCTV.
I’m intending to get a pedal lock as soon as I collect it and a disklok on the steering wheel. I will also thinking of a fuel cut off solenoid and a few more tricks
 
I have just been flicking through the Haynes manual for the Defender and is says

'A central door locking function is standard on all vehicles from 2002 model year. The system operates in the front and rear passenger doors, and on station wagons and country station wagons models it also operates on the rear tailgate
The central locking function is controlled by the anti-theft system control unit, which is located behind the instrument cluster. The control unit is also responsible for the operation of the interior lights.'

So according to that all Defenders from 2002 have alarms. But I am yet to find anything about an immobiliser

my 62 plate doesnt have central locking its not an option on the base model
 
As we have sold the missus’s 90 TD5 l have a Safe-T-Pedal for sale if anybody needs one.

Covers all the pedals and also unlike the cheaper copies has a plate on the RHS to prevent access to the pedals with bolt cutters.
